Remember when I mentioned some examples of our brand of small town quirk? If not, take a look at these posts to see just how much we value choices and ducks around here.
Anyway, this yard downtown takes the cake. I really should have explored a bit more and taken a few more pictures. The homeowner was sitting on his porch swing when I rolled up to just take a shot of that weird dead tree/bottle thingy. He totally invited me to look around. But, despite it being the middle of the day, it just felt a little creepy.
There’s a bunch of other crazy stuff going on there (gardening-wise) though. I’ll have to go back for a closer look some other time.

Yep, that is a picture of small town America! Too much time and not enough talent.
Hi Mark,
Whatever is going on, it sure is fun to document it.

Weird America! This belongs in a book if it isn’t already.
Thanks City,
Hope your summer is going well!

I think you probably know what I think it is. ART!!! And I think it’s wonderful! Like his own little sculpture park. How cool that this guy looked at certain objects and said, I can make something from these things. It may not mean something to the average person, but it means something to him. I think it’s refreshing that his lawn doesn’t look like everyone else’s, with the trimmed hedges and the “right” lawn ornaments.
Jessica!
Thanks for your perspective on this one.
Perfect.

What the heck!? That certainly is odd! Yeah! I would feel creeped out too if that guy invited me to look around in his yard.
Well, I’m sure it serves a purpose! It reminds me of a lady who decided that she wanted to stop drinking alcohol and took a makeshift tree and hanged the bottles on the tree for her final week and left it there as a symbol of her quitting. So it probably serves something like that… I hope… hahaha!
