Thinking, Feeling, and the Brain

Bolte Taylor, points out that most people are well aware that there exist within themselves two conflicting personalities. She explains/believes that these two personalities actually exist in two separate hemispheres of our brains-right and left. She sums up where these two personalities (and how we often talk about them) originate on page 134 of her book, My Stroke Of Insight.

Our head tells us one thing: left
While our heart tells us another: right

What we think: left
What we feel: right

Mind consciousness: left
Body’s consciousness: right

Small ego mind: left
Capital ego mind: right

Small self: left
Inner or authentic self: right

Our work mind: left
Our vacation mind: right

Researcher mind: left
Diplomatic mind: right

Masculine mind: left
Feminine mind: right

Yang consciousness: left
Yin consciousness: right

Jung’s sensing mind: left
Jung’s intuitive mind: right

Our judging mind: left
Our perceiving mind: right
