I also know that 3 of the teachers (you, Steph and Kelli) in the front row on the news clip recently finished your master’s degrees, and I have witnessed firsthand the passion that all of you have for your careers and your students. I believe that teachers are the most influential people on the planet. Teaching is heroic. To teach is to wield incredible power.
The problem is that most teachers have no idea how much influence they really have. Every day I see teachers acting like the docile elephant tied to the plastic chair with that flimsy piece of string.
